Being a professional myself, I know that the decision to enter law school was likely filled with wonderfully aspirational images about ways being a lawyer would enrich your life as well as that of others. Perhaps you imagined yourself speaking eloquently in front of a court room or sitting at a table intensely discussing a legal quandary with someone who can’t afford legal services. Or maybe your saw yourself facilitating a large company strategy meeting or even being a member of the Supreme Court. Very few of us even know to think about the business or politics of being a professional when we start out. What a shock it is to realize that you need a book of business or need to wend your way around a complex organizational chart in order to succeed! Being an expert is something you were trained to be. Rainmaking and developing sustained relationships with a vast number of people?? That’s daunting for most of us!
No matter what your goals, it is essential to know the strategies and actions that will enable you make your definition of success a reality. This book is designed to do just that.
